What repairs and alterations cost in Las Vegas
We looked for prices the shops on this list post publicly. As of November 3, 2026, almost none of them post a price list. So this page doesn't give numbers. It covers what changes the price and what to ask before you leave something.
What the shops do post
- Quality Shoe Repair & Luggage lists free estimates.
- Deluxe Cleaners & Alterations (Henderson) posts turnaround times on its website: about 3–4 days for standard alterations and 4–7 days for more complex work.
For anything else, ask for a quote in person. Most shops price after they see the item.
Shoes and boots
- Type of job. Heel tips and taps cost less than a full resole. A full resole costs less than rebuilding a welt.
- How the shoe is built. Stitched (Goodyear-welted) shoes and boots can be resoled. Many glued or molded soles can't be, or only partly.
- Material. Leather, rubber and specialty soles differ in cost. Exotic leathers take more care.
- Cowboy and work boots often need heavier soles and heels.
- Cleaning and color work (sneakers, dye jobs) depends on the material and how much restoring it needs.
Alterations and tailoring
- The garment. Lined, beaded, layered or delicate fabric takes longer than plain cotton or wool.
- Wedding and prom dresses often need several fittings. Ask whether the quote covers all of them.
- Suits. Hemming pants is simple. Taking in a jacket at the shoulders is not, and some shops won't do it.
- Rush work. Ask whether same-day or next-day work costs extra.
Luggage, purses and leather bags
- Parts. Wheels, handles and zippers depend on whether a matching part is available.
- Warranty. Check the luggage maker's warranty before you pay a shop.
- Designer bags. Some shops will quote a designer bag and some won't. Ask first.
Before you drop something off
- Ask for the price and the pickup date in writing, even on a ticket.
- Ask if they take cards. Some smaller shops are cash only.
- Ask how long they hold unclaimed items.
